I did stumble upon a potential work around. The last version of OS X that was able to run 'classic' Mac OS programs was OS X 10.4 and then only when that was the PowerPC version. I have been a user of PageMaker 6.5 for many years and was disappointed when it would not load on my new Windows 10 computer. If you’ve already installed the service pack and must remain on CS2 you’ll need to roll back to SP2. PageMaker 6.5 will only run under the 'classic' Mac OS (Mac OS 9 and earlier) that ran on the 68000 series CPUs and the PowerPC CPUs. Obviously, this isn’t a major issue (or a minor one for that matter) for most users, but for anyone still on CS2 that has a need to convert Pagemaker files, SP3 is going to be a dealbreaker. This was always a problem with CS2 under Vista and apparently some of the code made its way into Windows XP with the most recent service pack. There was no problem opening the same file with CS3 under XP or Vista. The Pagemaker document is damaged and cannot be recovered. I was greeted with the same error message over and over again:
